SOCIAL PROJECT
The Northern Andes region is one of the most visited and promoted zones in mainland Ecuador, however it still has a lot of hidden wonders where the tourism profits are not arriving. That is the case of the valley of Salinas surrounded by amazing landscapes, friendly people and cultural offer.
Kleintours’ “Chaski Antawa” project is our way to help the Valley of Salinas and its surroundings to become a visited destination and to help improve its people’s life style. Our investment and efforts in the train refurbishing have been huge, but it will not finish at this point. We will continue with the implementation of micro industrial projects for the community.
The main project with the community in Salinas was the implementation of a restaurant in the village. The restaurant has been donated and high-quality trainings have been given in order to fulfill tourists’ expectations.
Kleintours’ experts leaded by Paola Pretto have trained the people of Salinas in the areas of cooking, service, cleaning, nutrition, dish decoration and team work. For sure you will enjoy this experience and feel the satisfaction of being part of this social project.

Menu
The exceptional and creative menu that visitors will have the opportunity to taste has been carefully selected and elaborated by the community of Salinas. The habitants are well-known for its agricultural activities. Their desire of progress and the compromise with this tourist project have helped them to get involved with enthusiasm in the restaurant, which will give them an opportunity to increase their income and improve their life style.
First course:
Fried green banana and yucca appetizers
Quinua or Potato soup – Traditional Incas dish
Main courses:
Beef, grilled trout or chicken with mushrooms with seasonal vegetables.
Dessert:
Santa Catalina – made with fresh fruits from the region.
Beverage:
Natural water
- EXTRA: wine, beer, natural fruit juices, sodas, sprinkle water, coffee and tea
